Archaeology Speaker Program:  The Pennsylvania Archaeological Council has developed a list of speakers on prehistoric, historic, and industrial archaeological topics (generally available at no charge!)

 

Participate in Archaeology: The Bureau for Historic Preservation and the State Museum will not sponsor a public participation excavation on City Island in Harrisburg this year. Due to budget cuts the project is on hold.

 

Archaeological Essay Contest Grades 4-9 As part of Pennsylvania Archaeology Month, the Pennsylvania Archaeological Council is pleased to announce the Tenth Annual Archaeological Essay Contest. The contest is open to all Pennsylvania students in grades 4,5 and 6 (Group 1) and 7,8 and 9 (Group 2). The theme of the contest is "What are archaeological sites and why is it important to preserve them?" First, second, and third place prizes and honorable mention acknowledgments will be awarded for each category.
